Aims: The overall aim of this part of the module is to develop students’ understanding of assistive technology and its application within health and social care activity. Specifically, it will provide opportunities for students to examine the potential of maintaining independence in the form of assistive technology for current and future practice.Learning Outcomes: By the end of this part of the module students should be able to:
1. Identify the appropriate assistive technology for health and social care which may be available to organisations and/or individuals/users
2. Discuss how assistive technology can be applied to meet identified requirements and needs
3. Analyse the practical application of assistive technology in specific settings or with specific service user groups, acknowledging the need to work in an anti-discriminatory manner
4. Evaluate implications of technological developmentsBy the end of this part of the module students should be able to:
