Saint Leo University
COM 510: Principles of Cybersecurity Management
Chapter 4
1. Using the Internet, go to the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium (ISC)2 Web site (www.isc2.org) and look for the InfoSec common body of knowledge (CBK). When you review the list of 10 areas in the CBK, is policy listed? Why do you think this is so?
2. Search for sample security policies on the Web. Identify five EISP and five ISSP sample policies and bring them to class. Compare these with the framework presented in this chapter and comment on the policies’ comprehensiveness.
Chapter 5
1. Assume that you are asked to recommend the professional credentials for certain roles in InfoSec at a larger organization. What is your recommendation for the credential to be held by the CISO? How about for an InfoSec Manager? What would be your recommended certifications for the senior technical staff? For the last question, pick three technical roles and note the job title and recommended credential for each.
2. Search the term “security awareness” on the Internet. Choose two or three sites that offer materials and services and describe what they offer.

This assignment is for OPS/385 week 4 Discussion
The video links are there.
The ability to control the processes and understand the outcome is a common necessity for all businesses. And that’s where most businesses are likely to stumble, especially in the long run.
Applying the principles of control, respond to the following in a minimum of 175 words:
Analyze something you do every single day that you expect to have the same outcomes. Do you always get the results that you expected? For instance, people tend to follow the same path when they mow their lawns.
Discuss 3 factors that either altered or could alter your expected outcome.
WEEK 3 discussion is the following what was posted if needed for reference
Supplies, inputs, processes, outputs, and customers collectively go by the acronym SIPOC. It alludes to a comprehensive A-to-Z approach to the whole organizational process. SIPOC basically is centering focus on a problem so that the organizational processes are improved.
Linking the SIPOC with my week 2 discussion question – Employee retention rates have drastically decreased over the past year, resulting in knowledge and skill gaps and low morale among employees, which has a detrimental influence on production and the achievement of the company’s goals.
S (Suppliers): The human resource manager, the company’s leaders.
I (Inputs): employee satisfaction survey to know about the causes of attrition rates.
P (Process): Based on the results achieved from the Input (reasons of attrition), devising employee engagement activities, training, and development programs for the employees, building an inclusive culture, ensuring their work-life balance, recognizing and rewarding their efforts, and aligning their professional goals with the company.
(Output): Improved employee retention rates, enhanced morale of the employees resulting in attaining the company’s goals, enhancement of the knowledge of the employees, and updated their skills to keep their spirits high.
C (Customer): Employees of the organization.
Hence, in this example, the suppliers are the human resource department executives that intend to work on the measures of improving employee rates to benefit the organization by improving processes of employee engagement that benefit the customers (employees).
SIPOC promotes process alignment and transparency throughout the organization. It provides a strategic management perspective on the project at a high level (Hadek et al., 2019). To avoid misunderstandings, it specifies the requirements for the process inputs and establishes who is responsible for providing them. Identifying the clients and their particular needs early on in the process is also helpful.
